The average wage in Mexico equates to around $10 per day. This man had grown up in a village in Oaxaca, Mexico with no public transport and no ability to leave to find work. He was one of the lucky ones though. 30 years ago he had asked the baker’s daughter to marry him. She had said on the condition that he became a baker. He baked hundreds of loaves per day.
