Dulce was detained in 2004 after she survived an attack by armed gunmen in 2002.  She was accused of orchestrating the attack and detained for 19 years before the Supreme Court found that there was no evidence against her.

She is now rebuilding her life making intricately crafted bespoke dolls for clients, whilst also working in a shelter to help women in prison and cleaning houses.  All this, in between rebuilding links with her family, from whom she was estranged for almost two decades.
